Travel Documents
The most important (and possibly most obvious) items to pack are your travel documents. This includes passports, travel visas, boarding passes, and in the age of a global pandemic, any proof of vaccination or proof of allowed travel is necessary. These documents will ensure your travel experience runs smoothly.
Money
Firstly, you should ensure that you have exchanged any money to the currency of the location you are travelling to, if necessary. You should also make sure to have some emergency cash that you will only use in the case of an issue arising. Having emergency cash can be extremely important as it is not guaranteed that unfortunate situations may occur as you travel.
Medications
If you take medication, you should pack exactly the amount that you will need for your time away. Packing extra also may be a smart idea in case some gets lost or stolen. Make sure you have enough prescribed from your doctor before you go. It is also a good idea to pack some medication in case of illness or inhalers due to asthma etc.
Chargers, Headphones, Electronics
Be sure to take your mobile phone, or any other electronics you may need depending on the reasons for your travel. Make sure to pack chargers and headphones for the flight, especially long hauls. If you are travelling for work, pack your laptop, wires, cameras etc. You should also be prepared for your location to have poor WIFI or 4G, you should make a plan to gain internet access like travel routers or paying your mobile provider for extra data.
Toiletries
Most of the time, you will be able to buy any needed toiletries in the country you are travelling to, but it is always encouraged to take your essentials such as deodorant, shower gel, toothpaste etc. If you are specific on what products to use, it is best to take your own as it may not be guaranteed that you will find them in your destination.
